Una città moderna che non dimentica le sue antiche radici storiche, che si mostra al futuro posando su un vivo passato, dove convivono e si intrecciano Albenga e Albingaunum. 

Albenga è uno scrigno da aprire e scoprire in tutte le sue bellezze; è una città d’Arte destinata ad avere un ruolo da protagonista sul palcoscenico della cultura mondiale.

Si nascondono tesori ovunque: dal passato emergono le antiche torri, le mura medievali, i monumenti,  il Battistero, la Cattedrale, i palazzi nobiliari e diversi edifici religiosi

Anche il freddo cuore sotterraneo custodisce reperti archeologici unici al mondo.

I fondali del Mare di Albenga conservano ricordi del passato importanti per ricostruirne i traffici commerciali di un tempo. E dall’Isola Gallinara, che interrompe lo sguardo di chi ricerca l’orizzonte, fa capolino una torre del cinquecento eretta sui resti di un antico monastero benedettino.

Tutte queste ricchezze sono l’onore e l’onere dei tempi moderni, dove è necessario conservare al meglio e valorizzare quanto ricevuto in eredità da un generoso passato.

Ma il passato convive con una città in evoluzione, che cresce e si adatta alla multiculturalità, alle esigenze della modernità e mondialità.

L’imminente redazione del nuovo PUC, il nuovo polo scolastico, il progetto per un porto turistico all’avanguardia, gli interventi di ripascimento per le spiagge, il recupero di preziosi edifici storici  a servizio degli interessi della cittadinanza e soprattutto il nuovo e  moderno ospedale portano alla luce una città  che vive in pieno fermento.

In questo vasto e complesso panorama l’interesse del turista spazia e si perde in un turbinio di iniziative atte  a soddisfare ogni tipo di esigenza sfruttando al meglio le caratteristiche del territorio : la zona balneare offre, soprattutto nel periodo estivo, spettacoli musicali e di intrattenimento particolarmente rivolti ad un pubblico giovanile, mentre nel centro storico l’attenzione è rivolta ad appuntamenti culturali e di approfondimento storico e scientifico.

Ma non solo: la vasta Piana, motore economico fuori dalle mura, è madre di prodotti tipici locali che rendono Albenga una capitale floricola e gastronomica.

 Il ricco calendario turistico rende omaggio ai prodotti locali prevedendo tre manifestazioni tematiche ormai radicate nella tradizione: il trittico primaverile è composto da CIP e VIP ( cuochi e verdure in Piazza), Fior d’Albenga ed Aromatica.

Con "C.I.P. & V.I.P. - Verdure in Piazza e Cuochi in Piazza"  si punta alla promozione dei quattro prodotti tipici di Albenga (carciofo spinoso, asparago violetto, zucchina trombetta e pomodoro cuore di bue): il Centro Storico si trasforma in una vetrina espositiva per i prodotti ortofrutticoli coltivati nella nostra terra ed i prodotti locali vengono esaltati e cucinati nei ristoranti  e nelle Piazze della città. Inoltre la gastronomia si sposa con attività educative, culturali ma anche con giochi, musica, spettacoli e divertimenti. In particolare, soprattutto per i ragazzi, sono previsti laboratori didattici  per approfondire la conoscenza dei prodotti della terra di Albenga.
